The domaine Alphonse Mellot is the benchmark for Sancerre. The wines are produced by the high vineyards of Sancerre, the most famous of which is "DOMAINE LA MOUSSIERE". Its exceptional quality has earned it the distinction of being the only Sancerre wine to be awarded the prestigious "hors concours" label. DOMAINE LA MOUSSIERE covers more than thirty hectares in a single block, and its privileged exposure at the south-western tip of Sancerre, its limestone soil and subsoil provide all the elements necessary for vine-growing. The vineyard is managed according to the principles of organic and biodynamic agriculture. The wines of Domaine Alphonse Mellot are precise, chiselled and superbly straightforward. A must-have in your cellar.
