El Botijo Rojo produced by The Garage Wine is a superb Spanish organic wine full of freshness. This wine develops aromas of raspberry, cherry and white pepper. The tannins on the palate are silky and the wine is surprisingly fresh and thirst-quenching.
El Botijo is the brainchild of sommeliers-turned-nologists Fernando Mora and Mario Lopez. The grapes come from the Mario family's certified organic Las Cellas vineyard in Valdejalon, northeastern Spain. Winemaking in the region is thought to predate Roman colonization, and is ideal for the production of high-quality wines. These are the garagistes of the region, producing wines in small quantities and taking care at every stage of production, hand-picking grapes and adopting a "minimal" approach to production. The name El Botijo ??comes from the traditional Spanish water boat used in vineyards to quench the thirst of grape-pickers.

Close2024 is a great success for Château Tour des Gendres on this cuvée des conti. This organic wine develops on pear, exotic fruit; on the palate, we find the same notes as on the nose with superb density. This Cuvée des Conti is a real favorite, not only with fish, but also with foie gras, for example! Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2022: 90/100
