A 2024 organic dry white Mâcon-Fuissé from Domaine Cornin in Chaintré, Burgundy. A fresh, lemony Chardonnay from a certified organic estate that practices biodynamic principles.
Les Bruyères is the cuvée from Mâcon-Fuissé from Domaine Cornin, in the Mâconnais region of Burgundy. It is a dry white wine made from Chardonnay. The 2024 vintage is fresh and lemony, with a clean finish. It ranks just below the estate’s Pouilly-Fuissé wines, while maintaining the estate’s signature style: precise, unpretentious wines.
Dominique Cornin and his son Romain cultivate about ten hectares around Chaintré. The estate is certified organic and follows biodynamic principles. The grapes are harvested by hand, and fermentation takes place using native yeasts. The soil is plowed, and the use of treatments (sulfur and copper) remains very minimal.
Mâcon-Fuissé comes from the same village as Pouilly-Fuissé, but it belongs to a more accessible appellation. It’s a great introduction to the estate’s style, before its Pouilly-Fuissé and its 1er cru Les Chevrières.
Les Bruyères should be served at 10–12 °C. They can also be aged for a few years in the cellar.
