Clos du Calvaire - Chateauneuf-du-Pape - red 2023

The domaine Elian Da Ros produces a great, dry, highly aromatic white from the Southwest. This organic wine develops on airy notes of white flowers and white fruits. The 2021 vintage is superb, the wine boasting superb length. Not to be missed.

This 1er cru Langenberg 2023 from domaine Marcel Deiss is a superb success. Nose of lemon, grapefruit and white flowers (lily of the valley, elderberry), light mineral touches spice up the bouquet, the palate is airy and subtle, like an aromatic cloud, leaving on the finish a sensation of salinity so characteristic of the granite terroirs of St Hippolyte. The wine is fuller and more complex than a simple Riesling St Hippolyte; the material is more subtle and bounces back with little acidic, tonic twitches.

The cuvée Rotenberg from the domaine Marcel Deiss is a soft, fruity, seductive, lemony and vibrant dry wine. Made from riesling and pinot, it combines the structure of pinot with the straightforwardness of riesling. A superb success!

La cuvée Terres de la Crau du Clos du Calvaire is a parcel-based cuvée from the estate. It presents a varied palette of blackberry, rose and spice aromas. The palate is generous, with ripe black fruit aromas, coated tannins and a chocolate finish. A concentrated, generous wine that aptly highlights the terroirs of La Crau.

Terres de la Crau blanc du Clos du Calvaire is a superb white Châteauneuf-du-Pape from vines averaging 60 years old. A pure, balanced white with a vibrant style that perfectly highlights the richness of the appellation's terroirs. The nose reveals aromas of white flowers and lime blossom. On the palate the aroma tends towards honeyed mint, and lime.

The cuvée Père Pape du Clos du Calvaire is made from old vines planted in the northern part of the appellation and offers a varied aromatic palette with notes of red fruits, laurel and spices. The palate is full, fresh and racy. Père Pape reflects the terroirs of Châteauneuf du Pape with finesse and precision.
