Les vins de la Madone, a vineyard run by Gilles Bonnefoy, is located the furthest upstream of all the vineyards on the LOIRE river, in the Côtes du Forez region. It is positioned on a geological fault formed in the Tertiary era by the thrust of the Alps, on which there are some 15 volcanoes, 30 of which are located in the Côtes du Forez and Vin de Pays d'Urfé appellation zones. Most of Champdieu's vineyards are located on the outskirts of two volcanoes. Today comprising 8 hectares of vines, 1/3 of which are over thirty years old, the estate les vins de la Madone is the result of pure creation. Gilles Bonnefoy quickly switched to organic and then biodynamic 28 agriculture, certified by Demeter.Les vins de la Madone wowed us with their velvety smoothness, finesse and depth.
