Superb body and volume on the palate, with soft, tight tannins. Very good length. A truly great Cahors!" The Château du Cèdre enjoyed a meteoric rise in the 90s to become the benchmark for Cahors wines today, thanks to the uncompromising work of the Verhaeghe brothers. The 25-hectare estate is planted mainly with red grape varieties, with 80% Malbec, 10% Merlot and 10% Tannat. Château du Cèdre follows the principles of "lutte raisonnée" (integrated pest management) and has embarked on a conversion to organic farming: the soil is worked entirely mechanically, the use of weedkillers is outlawed.
