The Reuilly appellation, nestled in the Berry region about 50 kilometers west of Bourges, is one of the hidden gems of the Centre-Loire region. Neighboring Sancerre and Quincy, it produces Pinot Noir wines of remarkable finesse on its clay-limestone and flint soils—often offering unbeatable value compared to the great Loire Valley appellations.
The Reuilly Rouge 2024 from Domaine de Reuilly Joseph de Maistre is made from 100% Pinot Noir, grown using certified organic farming methods. The 2024 vintage, fresh and well-balanced for the Loire region, produced aromatic Pinot Noirs with light extraction and preserved natural acidity—characteristics typical of great vintages for this grape variety.
On the nose, fresh cherry, raspberry, and a light floral note (peony, violet). On the palate, a supple and rich attack, fine and silky tannins, good length with a fresh and slightly spicy finish. A red wine for pleasure and fine dining, in the elegant style of the Centre-Loire Pinot Noirs.
Pairings: roasted poultry (chicken, guinea fowl), duck with cherries, soft cheeses (Brie, Camembert, Coulommiers), fine charcuterie, mushrooms. Serve slightly chilled at 14–16°C. Peak drinking window: 2026–2028.
