The Reuilly Blanc 2024 from Domaine de Reuilly Joseph de Maistre is an elegant and fresh 100% organic Sauvignon Blanc from one of the Loire Valley’s lesser-known appellations — neighboring Sancerre but still largely unknown. Citrus, white fruits, floral notes, and a lively, mineral-driven palate.
Peak drinking window: 2028.
Perfect with goat cheese, shellfish, or fish in a light sauce.
The Domaine de Reuilly Joseph de Maistre is one of the historic landmarks of the Reuilly appellation, nestled in the Berry region, about 50 kilometers west of Bourges. A lesser-known appellation, Reuilly remains in the shadow of its neighbor, Sancerre, but produces Sauvignon Blancs of remarkable precision and minerality—often at an unbeatable value.
The Reuilly Blanc 2024 is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc, grown using certified organic farming methods on the appellation’s clay-limestone and flint soils. The 2024 vintage, fresh and balanced in the Loire region, has produced wines that are crisp, aromatic, and possess beautiful natural acidity.
On the nose, fresh citrus—lemon, grapefruit—white flowers, and a light mineral note of flint, characteristic of the great Sauvignon Blancs of the Central Loire. On the palate, the attack is lively, the texture taut and precise, and the finish lingering with lovely minerality. A gastronomic white, both rich and easy to drink.
Pairings: goat cheeses (Crottin de Chavignol, Selles-sur-Cher), shellfish, oysters, fish in light sauces, sushi, Asian cuisine. Serve at 10–12°C. Peak drinking window: 2026–2028.
