With several generations of history behind it, the Domaine de la Bergerie extends over some 36 hectares, spread over the finest appellations in the area: Anjou Villages, Coteaux du Layon, Savennières, Quarts de Chaume, Anjou blanc, Crémant de Loire, as well as a few Vin de France cuvées. This diversity reflects a constant desire to enhance Anjou's winegrowing heritage while adapting the work to the specific characteristics of each terroir. The Domaine de la Bergerie has been certified organic since 2016.

The cuvée du Clos Joubert du domaine de la Haute Févrie comes from a parcel of vines overlooking the Sèvre, with vines aged between 40 and 50 years. This great organic Muscadet is aged in barrels for 9 to 10 months. Lightly woody notes with hints of vanilla and sweet spices. Nice saline finish!

Les Gourgoules du Château de Caraguilhes is a superb Corbière: powerful, spicy and refined, it's the ideal companion to grilled meats. On the palate, the attack of this organic wine is silky with notes of pepper, blackberry and black olive that underline the fleshy side of this wine. The tannins give the wine excellent hold, reinforcing its overall balance. On the palate, we find the freshness of our Caraguilhes terroir, of which this wine is a modern expression. An elegant, spirited wine. Good value for money.

The 2017 Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru is the rarest and most prized wine from Domaine de la Bergerie. An organic botrytized Chenin Blanc from Anjou’s sole Grand Cru—one of the Loire Valley’s most exclusive and sought-after appellations.
Anne and Marie Guégniard, the 8th generation to cultivate these schist soils of the “Anjou Noir” in Champ-sur-Layon, produce a sweet wine of exceptional complexity and elegance: candied apricot, acacia honey, candied orange, citrus zest; a rich, opulent palate perfectly balanced by the Chenin’s natural acidity.
A wine for meditation and fine dining, reaching its peak in 2035.

This grand chenin de gastronomie is ample; it has a supple texture on the palate, without losing any of its usual complexity and edge. It develops on complex notes of yellow fruit, hawthorn and aniseed. Great length.
