Maison Camille Cayran produces some lovely wines in the Rhône Valley. We were seduced by 2 references, La bête à bon dieu, a fruity, supple Côtes du Rhone, and a Cairanne, with a lovely constitution and personality. Prices are rock-bottom, so don't miss out on these great bargains.

The cuvée Essencial rouge du domaine des Schistes is from a terroir of schist marl slopes and clay-limestone plateau in the commune of Tautavel. The wine is quite expressive with notes of black fruit and zan. The palate is smooth, well-balanced and quite complex: spices (pepper) mingle with black fruits (blackberry). Good length. Good value for money.

La Bête à Bon dieu de la Maison Camille Cayran(Cave de Cairanne) possesses a limpid, brilliant ruby color with a violet sheen. the nose is very intense with spices as well as hints of garrigue. On the palate, a lovely suave, round attack, powerful and concentrated, with good body, volume, well-coated tannins, dense aromas of freshness and red fruit, cherry, blackcurrant. A lovely, supple organic wine.
