(Réf : RASPIMAGNY23)

Le Clos de Magny 2023 is the finest vineyard at Domaine Nicolas Raspiller — "the estate’s finest bottle, everything we love in a Burgundian Pinot: crispness, tension, finesse, and a savory finish."

The color is intense and brilliant. The nose is very expressive with notes of black cherry and morello cherry, with a fresh, spicy, herbal undertone. The palate is round and velvety, coating the mouth, with fine tannins and a savory, long finish. Serve at 15–16 °C.

100% organic Pinot Noir, vines planted in 1968, hard Upper Bathonian limestone, Corgoloin, 300 m, east-facing. Whole-cluster fermentation in concrete tanks, aged for 10 months in barrels over 5 years old, gravity racking, unfined and unfiltered.

Le Clos de Magny is Domaine Nicolas Raspiller’s prestige cuvée—its finest plot, its most accomplished expression. Located on the heights of Corgoloin, at an average altitude of 300 meters, on a gently sloping east-facing hillside, this vineyard is carved into the hard limestones of the Upper Bathonian period. The presence of sand and silt ensures optimal natural drainage, which protects the roots and concentrates the fruit within the berries. The vines, planted in 1968, are now over 55 years old—a maturity that is directly reflected in the wine’s depth and complexity.

Nicolas Raspiller, a self-taught winemaker who trained for fifteen years with winemakers in Burgundy and Champagne, founded his estate in 2017 in Chaux and immediately began the transition to organic farming—which was certified in 2019. Also a beekeeper, he tends his vines using herbal remedies: stinging nettle, comfrey, fern, horsetail, and meadowsweet. Hand-harvested grapes, rigorous sorting, whole-cluster fermentation in concrete tanks, malolactic fermentation in barrels over 5 years old, 10 months of aging, racking by gravity, unfined and unfiltered, 20 mg/l total SO2. Hachette Guide: 1 star for the 2020 vintage.

Serve at 15–16 °C. Food pairings: poultry in sauce, light game, Époisses cheese, beef bourguignon. Aging potential: 5–8 years.
