Le Château de l'Ou in a few words
Chateau de L'ou is run by Séverine and Philippe Bourrier. The Château de L'ou vineyard is planted with typically Mediterranean grape varieties (Syrah, Grenache noir, blanc and gris, Mourvèdre...); it has been farmed organically since 1998 on 26 hectares on the arid terroir of the Plaine du Roussillon in Montescot, and 14 hectares on the dry terroir of the Plaine du Roussillon. The Château de L'Ou grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. Harvesters are trained to pick grapes to our exacting quality standards. The Château favors morning picking from sunrise to midday (i.e. 10 a.m. solar time) to preserve the freshness of the grapes. The grapes are placed in crates weighing around 10 kg, to protect them during transport and facilitate handling in the cellar. The date of harvest is determined by tasting a sample of the berries, with particular attention paid to the fineness of the skin and pips.Château de L'ou's organic wines have a fine personality, combining fruit preservation and complexity. The prices are very attractive. A great discovery!
I Love L'ou corresponds to the estate's entry-level wines: wines with character at a low price. The white is greedy and full of sunshine, the red, powerful, on black fruits.
I Love L'ou.
The Coeur de gamme corresponds to Chateau de L'ou: powerful and structured for the red, fruity and mineral for the white.
