The Château Mangot is a family-owned estate run by the Todeschini family, located on the hillsides of Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse, east of the Saint-Émilion appellation. The 2022 vintage is a sunny, fruit-forward wine with a refined texture, ideal for cellaring. The vineyard is in the process of converting to organic farming and does not use herbicides.
Château Mangot 2022 is a blend dominated by Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, grown on soils of limestone, clay, and molasse. It is aged in French oak barrels, where the wood complements the fruit.
This wine has aging potential: it can be cellared for about ten years, with its peak estimated around 2032. It pairs well with red meats, lamb, rib eye steak, and aged cheeses. Decant it before serving.
