Mas d'Agalis - Vin de France - Yo no puedo mas 2021

Lionel Maurel, of Mas d'Agalis, based in Nébian in the Hérault department, belongs to this new generation of winemakers who have fully grasped the meaning of the word “authentic.” His wines reflect a simple philosophy: cultivating the vines naturally, respecting the grapes, and honoring the identity of each vintage. “Yo no puedo más”—“I can’t take it anymore” in Spanish—he jokes about this cuvée, which proves that he has successfully selected the best of his terroir and his vines.

Made from old Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre vines ranging from 22 to 40 years old, grown organically on soils of limestone glacis and rounded pebbles, this cuvée is vinified using hand-harvested grapes and fermented with native yeasts, with no sulfur added at bottling—a total SO₂ level of around 30 mg/L, compared to the 150 mg/L allowed in conventional winemaking. A straightforward and fruity wine, perfect for sharing with friends, equally at home with a barbecue or game.
