The cuvée Cave Vinum du Mas de Libian is typical of southern whites. The palate is round and fresh, declining on a very fragrant fruitiness of white fruits and citrus. The Mas de Libian is owned by the Thibon-Macagno family, who run this magnificent Côtes du Rhône estate. The care taken with the predominantly south-southeast facing vines is one of the keys to understanding the consistent quality of these wines produced biodynamically since 2005 by the Mas de Libian. The Pétanque wine is a remarkable thirst-quencher, but the estate's Côtes du Rhône are absolutely worth discovering and cellaring to appreciate their full complexity. The Pinot Blanc du domaine Ginglinger is a complex blend of different parcels of pinot blanc and pinot auxerrois from various Eguisheim lieux-dits: Langrod, Bachtal, Klein Krumling, Lang Striebicher and Bodenacker. The golden auxerrois grapes give the wine a frank, pronounced fruitiness and fullness on the palate, while the pinot blanc adds freshness, liveliness and a hint of citrus. The bouquet of this pinot blanc is pure and spring-like, blending pear, lemon, fresh hazelnut, vanilla and white flowers. The balance on the palate is dry, articulated around suave, crisp flesh and invigorating freshness. A great charmer that goes well with a wide range of dishes.
