The impeccable structure and texture are accompanied by pretty red berries. A great success! Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2019 : 15.50/20 The Château de Villeneuve is one of Saulmur's benchmarks. The 25 hectares surrounding the Chevallier family estate produce complex wines marked by great personality. The vineyards are farmed organically to limit the use of chemicals and enhance the terroir. The wines from Château de Villeneuve are reasonably priced. The reds are full-bodied and deserve to be kept for a few years. The whites shine with elegance. Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2019, domaine 2 étoiles (sur 3) : "Villeneuve historically represents a great terroir for dry white chenin with remarkable ageing potential. Jean-Pierre Chevallier manages the family vineyard, partly located on the spectacular Côte de Souzay, with passion and exacting standards. What a lovely Viognier produced by the Mas d'Espanet with this cuvée Freesia. This wine is fresh, fruity, without any heaviness. A lovely bottle as an aperitif or with a meal. It will go well with a lovely goat cheese platter.
CloseThe Origines cuvée from domaine Bertrand Bergé features floral and candied fruit notes. The palate is round and soft, with intense fruit and greedy tannins.
