About

The Cuvée Anne-Fleur is the flagship wine of the Domaine de Dernacueillette. It stands out from all the others due to its aging in 50-hectoliter Austrian oak casks for 26 months—the estate’s only cuvée to undergo this process. A long and patient aging process, respectful of the wine’s character, builds structure and complexity without ever masking the freshness and minerality of the Termenès terroir.

Blend and Viticulture

60% Syrah, 30% Carignan, 10% Grenache, sourced from the estate’s highest-quality plots in the Termenès terroir, at altitudes ranging from 360 to 690 meters. The nine soil types—magnesian and ferruginous schist, ferruginous clay, and calcareous clay—contribute to the exceptional aromatic complexity of this cuvée. The vines are cultivated without mechanization. Vinification is carried out without added sulfites and without any additives. Hand-harvested in October, rigorously sorted, fermented in small concrete tanks. Aged for 26 months in 50-hl Austrian oak casks—a gradual micro-oxygenation process that refines the tannins and builds length without imparting overpowering oak.

Tasting Notes

Color: deep, intense red.
Nose: refined, fruity, precise, and fresh. Ripe black fruits, spices, light floral notes, and a mineral touch from the schist.
Palate: powerful and well-structured, with supple, well-integrated tannins resulting from aging in casks, exceptional length, and a fresh, lingering finish. A rare balance between power and elegance.
Serving: at 15–17°C; decant for at least 1 hour. Will reach its peak in 3 to 8 years; cellars for up to 10 years.

Food and Wine Pairings

Large game, 7-hour lamb, rib of beef, pigeon with truffles, aged cheeses from the Pyrenees and the Causses. A gourmet wine that deserves a meal worthy of its ambition.
