Casot d'en Gorat is a magnificent cuvée, this parcel selection from the domaine des Schistes. A blend of wood-aged Grenache Blanc and Grenache Gris. A wine of lovely intensity, fresh and complex. The Domaine des Schistes lies at the crossroads of terroirs in the Agly valley, in the communes of Estagel, Tautavel and Maury. The first vinification at Domaine des Schistes dates back to 1989, and now the vineyard covers 55 Ha.As its name suggests, the estate is planted mainly on schistose marls. The land lies on the last terraces raised by the emergence of the Corbières limestone massif, and is mainly on slopes. The Domaine des Schistes has chosen to respect and express its terroir by turning to organic farming. The wines are good value for money, both reds and whites. The chateau Haut Moulin is a very pretty Cotes de Bordeaux Blaye made from old Merlot vines. Nicely constituted, this organic wine develops on notes of red fruit (strawberry, cherry). Excellent value for money.

This white organic wine from Château de Caraguilhes has a beautifully complex nose between white fruit and the mineral side of the wine. It develops on notes of almond blossom, white peach and apricot underlined on the second nose by light citrus scents. The palate is full and silky, with a lovely freshness. Citrus fruits are present, accompanied by a hint of acacia and fennel. A well-balanced organic wine with good length at the back of the palate.

The cuvée Essencial rouge du domaine des Schistes is from a terroir of schist marl slopes and clay-limestone plateau in the commune of Tautavel. The wine is quite expressive with notes of black fruit and zan. The palate is smooth, well-balanced and quite complex: spices (pepper) mingle with black fruits (blackberry). Good length. Good value for money.

La Cerisaie is a magnificent Maury from the domaine des Schistes, made from grapes aged at least 40 years and located on the southernmost slopes, favoring a beautiful ripeness of the grenache. Aged in barrels for 5 months, it reveals notes of cocoa and prunes. The ideal match for chocolate cakes!
