Domaine de Pique-Basse is a superb estate in the Roaix appellation. Originally from Franche-Comté, Olivier Tropet trained as a nologist. In 1998, he took over his grandfather's estate and vineyards in the Rhône valley, at the foot of the Ventabren massif and east of the Rasteau terroir, an east/south-east-facing vineyard facing Mont Ventoux. Les Gourgoules du Château de Caraguilhes is a superb Corbière: powerful, spicy and refined, it's the ideal companion to grilled meats. On the palate, the attack of this organic wine is silky with notes of pepper, blackberry and black olive that underline the fleshy side of this wine. The tannins give the wine excellent hold, reinforcing its overall balance. On the palate, we find the freshness of our Caraguilhes terroir, of which this wine is a modern expression. An elegant, spirited wine. Good value for money.

Gras Moutons du domaine de la Haute Févrie is a Muscadet Sèvre et Maine sur lie with a very powerful, generous body, extrovert in flavor. The finish with lovely ripe bitters and praline nuances is particularly promising. A superb bottle from Domaine de la Haute Févrie !
