CloseWe fell under the spell of this Marty cuvée from the domaine de Laougué. The nose develops notes of ripe stewed fruit, cherry, plum, nuanced by remarkably well-balanced spicy notes. The palate is full-bodied and well-coated, lined with lovely ripe fruit and silky, mellow tannins. The roasted notes brought on by barrel ageing blend harmoniously with the red fruit notes. This Cuvée Abbaye from Domaine de l'Ancienne Cure is a great Bergerac. The charming, earthy nose suggests trumpets of death. The fine, precise texture evolves on the palate with notes of blueberry and black pepper. The lingering finish then expresses itself on black fruits, with a grainy sensation that provokes intense salivation.
