This Costières de Nimes 100% grenache from Clos des Centenaires could make many a Chateauneuf-du-Pape blush. This red wine develops notes of cooked fruit (raspberry, Morello cherry) and pepper. The wine is complex, with supple, greedy tannins. The finish is suave with aromas of roasted hazelnuts.

Le Clos des Centenaires is located in Vauvert, in the Costières de Nimes PDO. The genesis of the Les Centenaires project comes from the meeting between two winemakers sharing their passion for artisan wines and this Southern Rhône terroir: Luc Baudet and Bruno François.
The Clos des Centenaires covers 7 hectares of Villafranchian rolled pebble hillside. Located less than 2 km as the crow flies from the ponds of the Petite Camargue Nature Reserve and less than 20 km from the Mediterranean, the vineyard enjoys a uniquely mild and regular climate. The favorable terroir of Clos des Centenaires enables the production of gourmet, fresh and digestible wines, rare characteristics for the Costières de Nimes region.
Le Clos des Centenaires conducts its vineyard using only products authorized in the organic specifications. Le Clos des Centenaires' soils are cultivated with natural grassing and shallow ploughing, with particular attention paid to dynamization (biodynamic compost prepared annually).
