A lovely organic aperitif wine, it will also be at home with summer dishes (antipasti, salads...)The Domaine des Schistes is located at the crossroads of the terroirs of the Agly valley, on the communes of Estagel, Tautavel and Maury. The first vinification at Domaine des Schistes dates back to 1989, and now the vineyard covers 55 Ha.As its name suggests, the estate is planted mainly on schistose marls. The land lies on the last terraces raised by the emergence of the Corbières limestone massif, and is mainly on slopes. The Domaine des Schistes has chosen to respect and express its terroir by turning to organic farming. The wines are good value for money, both reds and whites. Les Gourgoules du Château de Caraguilhes is a superb Corbière: powerful, spicy and refined, it's the ideal companion to grilled meats. On the palate, the attack of this organic wine is silky with notes of pepper, blackberry and black olive that underline the fleshy side of this wine. The tannins give the wine excellent hold, reinforcing its overall balance. On the palate, we find the freshness of our Caraguilhes terroir, of which this wine is a modern expression. An elegant, spirited wine. Good value for money.

The Cuvée Chasse-Coeur from domaine Pique-Basse is a superb Côtes du Rhône village. Full-bodied and well-structured, this cuvée has a lovely depth, deliciousness and substance to face generous dishes. A superb starter.

Nuit Grave du Mas des Chimères is a blended wine, with a majority of Syrah, Grenache and a little Mourvèdre. This wine has great complexity with smooth tannins, a fresh, gourmet wine. It's a wine for laying down (8 to 10 years without fear) while still being accessible in its youth, to be accompanied throughout its evolution over time.

The cuvée Essencial rouge du domaine des Schistes is from a terroir of schist marl slopes and clay-limestone plateau in the commune of Tautavel. The wine is quite expressive with notes of black fruit and zan. The palate is smooth, well-balanced and quite complex: spices (pepper) mingle with black fruits (blackberry). Good length. Good value for money.

La Cerisaie is a magnificent Maury from the domaine des Schistes, made from grapes aged at least 40 years and located on the southernmost slopes, favoring a beautiful ripeness of the grenache. Aged in barrels for 5 months, it reveals notes of cocoa and prunes. The ideal match for chocolate cakes!

Solera du domaine des Schistes is a Rivesaltes of great complexity: made using a solera method, where older wines are blended with younger ones, this organic wine reveals itself to be complex, with notes of candied apricots, orange, honey and dried fruit. Superb length!
