This liqueur wine from Château de Cèdre has a very fruity, complex nose, with aromas of blackberry and blackcurrant, a hint of violet, spice and cocoa. Château du Cèdre enjoyed a meteoric rise in the 90s to become the benchmark for Cahors wines, thanks to the uncompromising work of the Verhaeghe brothers. The 25-hectare estate is planted mainly with red grape varieties, with 80% Malbec, 10% Merlot and 10% Tannat. Château du Cèdre follows the principles of "lutte raisonnée" (integrated pest management) and has embarked on a conversion to organic farming: the soil is worked entirely mechanically, the use of weedkillers is outlawed.
