On the palate, it's opulent, silky and licorice-flavored. It goes well with tasty meats: leg of lamb cooked in rosé, duck with honey and spices, capon with chanterelles.

This Charme-Chambertin from the domaine Hubert Lignier comes from a 10-acre plot on lieu dit Mazoyères haut, a vineyard planted in 1948.The soil is deeper than Clos de la Roche, composed of clay-limestone, sand. The vineyard is located next to Les Combottes, south of Les Charmes Chambertin. The wines are distinguished by floral fragrances, often elegant and fine, but also retaining a power and length on the palate worthy of a rather charming Grand Cru.
