Domaine François Villard's L'appel des Sereines is a pretty little Syrah, supple and full-bodied: it's a pleasure wine, well-balanced with aromas of red fruit that you can feel on the palate, with a touch of spice that delights us. Domaine François Villard is one of the elite of Rhône Valley wines. A former chef, François Villard, who has decided to manage his vineyard using certified organic farming methods since 2019, produces wines from the northern Rhône Valley that are more focused on finesse. Here, the emphasis is not on opulence, but on good ripeness without heaviness; the wines are long and straightforward, while respecting the fruit. The success is total, and the prices have remained reasonable. Guide RVF des meilleurs vins de France 2020: 2 stars (very great estate). "Just because the troublemaker François Villard doesn't take himself seriously doesn't mean we shouldn't treat his work with the attention it deserves. This self-taught winegrower likes concentrated, late harvests, so as to achieve perfect ripeness rather than over-ripeness. In reds, La Brocarde in côte-rotie and Reflet in saint joseph are often among the greatest successes of the sector. The whites are generous.

The Seul en Scène cuvée from domaine François Villard is a superb discovery. On the nose, the wine is an explosion of violets, directly announcing the Syrah. This is followed by notes of ripe fruit such as cherry and jammy strawberry. The palate is tender and suave with young but already velvety tannins.
