Domaine de Pique-Basse is a superb estate in the Roaix appellation. Originally from Franche-Comté, Olivier Tropet trained as a nologist. In 1998, he took over his grandfather's estate and vineyards in the Rhône valley, at the foot of the Ventabren massif and east of the Rasteau terroir, an east/south-east-facing vineyard facing Mont Ventoux. The palate is round and full-bodied, underlined by dark berry aromas and hints of black tapenade. The freshness of the mid-palate gives the wine real personality. La Bête à Bon dieu de la Maison Camille Cayran(Cave de Cairanne) possesses a limpid, brilliant ruby color with a violet sheen. the nose is very intense with spices as well as hints of garrigue. On the palate, a lovely suave, round attack, powerful and concentrated, with good body, volume, well-coated tannins, dense aromas of freshness and red fruit, cherry, blackcurrant. A lovely, supple organic wine.

The L'As du Pique cuvée from domaine Pique-Basse is an organic wine with a strong personality! The nose of this Grenache-dominant Côtes-du-Rhône Village Roaix opens with notes of blackcurrant liqueur, candied orange peel and Morello cherry, followed by a blend of grilled and even smoky spices. On the palate, the suave, round and fleshy attack of ripe red fruits of this organic wine is relayed by notes of spice and pepper, all in perfect balance with a lovely structure of tightly-packed tannins.

The Rasteau from domaine Pique-Basse is a magnificent southern red wine! The nose of this Rasteau offers an aromatic palette of black fruits and fine spices. On the palate, a silky, velvety feel is displayed, with a fresh, persistent dynamic thanks to excellent acidity. Elegant, mellow tannins with a good presence add fullness. The open, pleasing whole seduces with its already mature expression.
