Domaine Marcel Deiss - Alsace - Riquewihr 2023

Pierre Gerbais' cuvée La Loge is a celebration of the rare Pinot Blanc grape variety, a treasure of the estate. Made from old vines planted in 1904, La Loge showcases the finesse and elegance of Pinot Blanc on Kimmeridgian soils. On the palate, this organic champagne reveals subtle aromas of white flowers, pear and hazelnut, with lovely tension and persistent minerality. Its balance makes it a perfect cuvée for gastronomic pairings, particularly with seafood, shellfish or grilled fish.

Petit Ours, a juicy Syrah produced on the Visan terroir but with a Northern Rhône wine profile. Another superb success from Matthieu Barret's Domaine du Coulet!

La Diablesse is the most virile and animal of all the Château de Coulaine cuvées. A few years in the cellar will do him a world of good!

L'abeille de Fieuzal rouge is a superb Pessac-Leognan red, fruity and full of energy. This is Chateau Fieuzal's second wine, which requires more time to taste. A great success for Chateau Fieuzal in this balanced 2019 vintage.

A magnificent Riesling Vendanges tardives from the Marcel Deiss estate at full maturity: the sweetness of the wine is counterbalanced by the minerality of the riesling. The whole is sumptuous and very elegant. A great bottle to enjoy with pan-fried foie gras, for example.

This Alsace Riquewirh du domaine Marcel Deiss comes from the Domaine Marcel Deiss plots, planted on the Riquewihr finage. The wine produced is extremely salivating, precise, well-structured and full of personality. A sparkling biodynamic wine!

The cuvée Rotenberg from the domaine Marcel Deiss is a soft, fruity, seductive, lemony and vibrant dry wine. Made from riesling and pinot, it combines the structure of pinot with the straightforwardness of riesling. A superb success!

This 1er cru Langenberg 2023 from domaine Marcel Deiss is a superb success. Nose of lemon, grapefruit and white flowers (lily of the valley, elderberry), light mineral touches spice up the bouquet, the palate is airy and subtle, like an aromatic cloud, leaving on the finish a sensation of salinity so characteristic of the granite terroirs of St Hippolyte. The wine is fuller and more complex than a simple Riesling St Hippolyte; the material is more subtle and bounces back with little acidic, tonic twitches.
