About

Sirocco Blanc is Domaine Vaccelli’s rarest and most exclusive cuvée—a Vin de France born from a blend that is unique in the world: Vermentinu (80%), Corsica’s iconic grape variety, combined with four extremely rare indigenous Corsican white grape varieties—carcaghjolu blancu, riminese, genovese, and cudivarta. These grape varieties, preserved on the island for centuries, bring a complexity and identity that no other wine in the world can replicate.

Domaine Vaccelli is located in Cognocoli-Monticchi, in the Taravu Valley, in southern Corsica between Ajaccio and Propriano. Founded in the 1960s by the Courrèges family, it is now run by Gérard and Nathalie Courrèges on 25 hectares of granite-sand hillsides—soils formed by the decomposition of granite, well-drained and poor, which give the wines their characteristic minerality and finesse. Certified organic since 2019.

The winemaking process for Sirocco Blanc is ambitious: direct pressing, 24-hour settling at 10°C, 12 months of aging in 12-hl casks (Stockinger and Rousseau) and 500L demi-muids on full lees, followed by 7 months in stainless steel tanks on fine lees—a total aging period of 19 months that builds the wine’s texture and complexity.

Serve at 12–14 °C. Food pairings: lard-wrapped monkfish, fine fish in sauce, Corsican cheeses, poultry. Aging potential: 5–8 years.
