The Richard Rottiers estate in a few words...
The Richard Rottiers estate was created in 2007 by taking over a 3.15 ha farm of vines aged between 40 and 80 years; the choice was made to experiment with innovative production methods from an environmental point of view. Domaine des Rottiers' goal is to convert the vineyard to organic in 2014, vinifying wines representative of this unique Moulin à Vent terroir.
The Domaine des Rottiers is one of the finest estates in the Moulin à Vent AOC. Domaine des Rottiers wines are often compared to those of Chambolle-Musigny for their elegance and femininity.
The tilling of the soil, the estate's conversion to organic farming since 2012, and the demanding winemaking process enable Domaine Richard Rottiers to produce some of the finest wines in Beaujolais. Their best crus can be kept for up to 10 years.
The cuvée domaine is endowed with a very smooth frame and bright fruit. A superb bottle to be enjoyed over 4-5 years.
La cuvée domaine
The cuvée Dernier Souffle from domaine Richard Rottiers comes from a plot behind a cemetery. This cuvée is a little more structured and deeper than the cuvée domaine. It should be drunk over 5-7 years.
Finally, cuvée Champ de Cour is the great cuvée for laying down. Complex, structured and powerful, this grand cuvée de garde blossoms after 7-10 years in the cellar.
Finally, the cuvée Champ de Cour is the grand cuvée de garde.
