This Chateau de Côme 2017 is a Saint-Estèphe that lacks neither energy nor charm. The robe is a bright, limpid garnet, after a fruity, fresh attack, the palate exults, juicy to perfection and carried by a very serious tannic structure.

Chateau de Côme covers just over 7 hectares, a human-sized vineyard nestled on the gravelly hilltops characteristic of Saint-Estèphe. This small size, rare for a Médoc cru, allows for a meticulous, artisanal approach, focused on quality rather than quantity. The estate enjoyed a renaissance in the early 2000s, when it was taken over and radically transformed by Maurice Velge, a wine enthusiast and fervent advocate of sustainable agriculture. His ambition was simple: to breathe new life into a discreet cru, by placing respect for the terroir and the purity of the wine at the heart of everything. After several years of effort and experimentation, Château de Côme became Saint-Estèphe's first organic wine, officially certified in 2018.
