Magnificent cuvée de garde from domaine Marcel Deiss than this 1er Cru Engelgarten. This dry white wine has extraordinary energy. The palate is fruity, but salivating and taut. Tight, fat, mineral white wine with a full, brilliant color, aromas of cooked pear and orange peel, enveloped in an intense minerality. Like all Graves, Engelgarten has a characteristic warmth on the palate, with suave notes of ripe white fruit and a rigorous minerality on the finish, which opens out into a tight, well-crafted length. A very easy-to-use wine, like all white Graves. Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2015: 17/20 (2013) The domaine Marcel Deiss is one of Alsace's most renowned. Jean-Michel Deiss has chosen to highlight the terroirs of Alsace through planted vines. No single-varietal cuvées here, then, but blends of grape varieties from a very specific terroir. It's an original approach, but a convincing one when you taste the wines of Domaine Marcel Deiss. The estate is organically farmed. It's one of the region's great references. To be tasted at least once in your life. Guide des meilleurs vins de France 2019: 3 stars, top rating
