Very pretty Brouilly vieilles vignes that need a few years of cellaring to fully express themselves. The Domaine de la Grand'Cour is one of Fleurie's oldest estates and was bought by Jean DUTRAIVE in 1969. He took over 9 hectares of Fleurie on the Grand'Cour, Chapelle des Bois and Champagne terroirs. He also kept 1.6 hectares of Brouilly from the five-generation-old family estate in the village of Charentay in Vuril. Jean-Louis Dutraive has run the Domaine de la Grand'Cour since 1989. He owns 1 hectares, overwhelmingly located on the Fleurie terroir. The Domaine de la Grand'Cour has been converted to organic viticulture since 29; the wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts, with long maceration and ageing (over a year). Jean-Louis Dutraive's organic wines possess a rare fruitiness and elegance, which leads certain Gamays to pinot on Champagne terroir, for example. Magnificent production.
