This Bandol red from domaine de la Bégude has a structured, round palate with black fruits and fine oak... This organic wine has powerful yet round tannins, giving it great ageing potential. The structure of this Bandol bio is elegant and the wine enjoys a fine fruit/alcohol balance. The finish, delicately peppery, develops on spices. A great Bandol coup de cur, the elite of the appellation. The Domaine de la Bégude is a 500-hectare estate, including 30 hectares of vines. Situated at an altitude of 400 meters, at the geographical pinnacle of the Bandol appellation, the vineyard is subject to sharp variations in temperature between day and night, enabling the estate's organic wines to retain a remarkable freshness, which is often lacking in this AOC. Owner Guillaume Tari refrains from any harsh intervention in the vines and wines, including weedkillers, pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Great Bandol de garde in all colors. Domaine 2 étoiles dans le guide des meilleurs vins de France 2019Bettane et Dessauve 219 : "Mourvèdre has the gift of expressing the character of its terroir, but also that of its winemaker. The wines show a clearly Bordeaux trait, sophisticated and well-bred, without betraying this spendid and wild terroir, perched on the Grande Bleue

Less vinous and softer than the Bandol from the same estate, it's an organic wine that's accessible as an aperitif and versatile enough to accompany an entire meal. Round, fruity and thirst-quenching on the palate, with notes of white peach, apricot and citrus fruit, and a fresh finish. Great value for money.
